Kidderminster Fail to Find the Cutting Edge

Taylor and Crabb lead Eastbourne Borough to a 2-0 Victory over the Harriers

By Graham Ward

Kidderminster found themselves a goal behind at halftime despite dominating possession as they were unable to crack Eastbourne's defensive shell.

Kyle Hadley was seeing plenty of the ball down the right and was having the beating of Borough defense, but was unable to find the final ball. When he finally found the quality cross, Barnes-Homer wasted a glorious chance by heading against the bar from 5 yards.

Eastbourne duly punished Harriers for failing to turn their possession into goals, when Crabb waltzed through a static Kidderminster defense to meet a low cross and score.

The second half followed the same pattern as the first, with Kidderminster dominating possession and playing some nice football but lacking composure in the important moments. The Harriers were resulting to shooting from distance with both Bennett and Hadley having chances, but were unable to trouble Michael Jordon in Borough's goal.

As the half went on Kidderminster players were starting to lack belief that they were going to get the equalizer with chances coming and going. Borough were starting to create chances on the break and killed the game off in injury time, thanks to Taylor taking advantage of some slack defending to slot the ball home and take all 3 points home for Eastbourne.
