CCrew Submits List of Protected Players in Advance of 2009 MLS Expansion Draft

League's 16th team, Philadelphia Union, will begin to take shape with 10 selections in Wednesday's draft

NEW YORK - The Columbus Crew today submitted its list of 11 players who will be protected from the 2009 MLS Expansion Draft, scheduled to take place this Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 1 p.m. ET. The League's 16th team, Philadelphia Union, will begin to take shape following the 10-round draft.

The following players have been protected and will not be made available to Philadelphia during the expansion draft: Eric Brunner, Brian Carroll, Emmanuel Ekpo, Eddie Gaven, William Hesmer, Steven Lenhart, Chad Marshall, Adam Moffat, Danny O'Rourke, Robbie Rogers, and Guillermo Barros Schelotto .
