Richmond Kicks Off Preseason March 6

RICHMOND, VA - February 26, 2010 – The Richmond Kickers are pleased to announce the 2010 preseason schedule, pitting the Kickers against Virginia Commonwealth University on Saturday, March 6th at 7:30 p.m.  The exhibition will take place during the Chesterfield Icebreaker Tournament and will be the first time the professional team will play at the state-of-the-art Ukrop Park.  Tickets are just $5.00 and are on sale now via RichmondKickers.com. 

In preparation of the 2010 campaign, the Kickers will face an intense lineup of preseason scrimmages including matches against William & Mary, Longwood University and Old Dominion University.  In addition, the Kickers will take on Crystal Palace Baltimore on Saturday, March 13th at Ukrop Park and will travel to Warhill Sports Complex in Williamsburg, VA to play the Virginia Stars on Sunday, March 21st. Dates and times are subject to change.

With training officially beginning on April 1st, the defending USL-2 Champions Kickers will open the 2010 season with a Pro-Am Challenge featuring the NCAA Champions University of Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday, April 3rd at 4:00 p.m. at University of Richmond Stadium.  Tickets are $12/adults and $7/youth ages 3-17 and are on sale now via RichmondKickers.com. 

As the regular season gears up, the Kickers will play host to the University of Richmond men’s soccer team on April 13th at University of Richmond Stadium at 7:00 p.m.  The regular season commences one week later when the Kickers host the Harrisburg City Islanders on Saturday, April 17th.
