PASL-PRO ACTION FROM DECEMBER 5-6, 2009

VORTEX FALL AT HOME TO EXPRESS

It was a high-scoring affair as expected with 14 goals in 60 minutes.  Defender Jeff Hughes led Cincinnati with three goals, while Adam Campellone paced the Vortex with two of his own.  Midfielder Allen Eller contributed two assists for Ohio along with a single goal.  Three Cincinnati players (Kurt Fischer, Tim Brown, and Sam Fiore) each added an assist.

The Express found themselves with a 3-0 lead in the first quarter; it appeared that their experience in the indoor game was quite an advantage.  Cincinnati was able to add two more before the Vortex scored their first of the night.  Halftime found the home squad down 5-1.

The Vortex were able to make a run in the third quarter, adding two goals to bring the score to 5-3.  Hughes scored the next three goals to allow the Express to take a commanding 8-3 lead.  Matt Tutich and Adam Campellone added goals for Ohio in the 4th quarter before their coach pulled the keeper.  The tactical move added a goal from Pete Angelokostopoulos in the final minutes, but just not enough to defeat Cincinnati.

The Ohio Vortex will face the Detroit Waza in Cleveland on December 12, the same squad Cincinnati faces on December 6.

SAN DIEGO REMAINS UNBEATEN AFTER DEFEATING DENVER

DEL MAR, CA - The San Diego Sockers scored a season-high 15 goals and dominated the last 45 minutes of the game to shell the traveling Denver Dynamite 15-5 at Del Mar Arena.

San Diego improved to 5-0, while Denver fell to 0-3.  The Dynamite have allowed 39 goals in their three losses.

The Sockers spotted Denver an early 2-1 lead and the teams were tied 2-2 at the end of the first quarter before San Diego exploded for a 7-0 run in the second quarter.  Denver would get no closer in the second half than 11-4.

Kraig Chiles scored four goals to extend his league-leading mark to 13 on the season.  Goalkeeper Riley Swift improved to 4-0 and contributed one assist to the offense.

DUCKER LEADS DETROIT TO VICTORY

TAYLOR, MI - A trio of former Detroit Ignition players ignited the Detroit Waza offense, pounding 1790 Cincinnati Express 10-6 at the Taylor Sportsplex.

Drew Ducker (two goals, three assists tonight), Matt Johnson (one goal, three assists) and Zach Wilkes (two goals) are all in their first years with the Waza, but their impact has been immediate.

The Waza improved to 2-2, just a game back of the 3-1 Express, who lost for the first time, but remain atop the Eastern Division.

Just two weeks ago in Cincinnati, the Express had their way with the Detroit, rolling to an 11-3 rout, but today Waza was the better team outscoring Cincinnati in each of the last three quarters.

TEXAS DOMINATES ST. LOUIS IN PASL-PRO ACTION

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX - The Texas Outlaws won their second straight game, getting little resistance from the St. Louis Illusion at TCG Arena.  The Outlaws got four goals and an assist from Keegan Hudson en route to a 9-3 victory.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Outlaws went on the attack.  Hudson scored twice for a 2-0 lead and Dominic Schell and Jared Lee followed for a 4-0 halftime advantage.

Roger Gemoules had two goals for St. Louis (1-2).

Schell finished with two goals and two assists for the Outlaws (2-1) and Adam Jochelson made 15 saves.
