Eastbourne Borough visit Tooting and Mitcham United on Saturday (October 24) for the 4th Qualifying phase of the F.A.Cup bidding to reach the First Round Proper - the stage where Division 1 and 2 Football League clubs enter - for the fourth time in their history.
Tooting and Mitcham already have three wins in the F.A. Cup this season - Qualifying Rounds 1.2. and 3 - and will be aiming to take a further step on the road to Wembley by getting to the 1st round for the first time since 1977.
United have got to this stage with victories over Horsham (4-2), Canvey Island (2-0) and Slough Town (3-2).
The Ryman League Premier Division club are challenging for promotion to Blue Square South, currently 2nd. in the table with 20 points from 11 games: won 6, drawn 2, lost 3.
Striker Paul Vines has already got 12 goals this season and scored in all United"s three qualifying round ties and in Saturday"s 3-0 F.A. Trophy lst Qualifying Round 3-0 win over Walton and Hersham.
Borough have never reached the 2nd round proper of the F.A. Cup. Three times they have got to the 1st round only to exit. In 2005 they went out to then Football League status Oxford United 3-0 in a replay at the Kassam Stadium after holding the U's 0-0 at Priory Lane. Weymouth ended the adventure in 2007 with a 4-0 victory
and last season Borough crashed 4-0 in a replay at Barrow after the Cumbrians hung on for a 0-0 at Priory Lane. Barrow went on to beat Brentford in Round Two and got a plum tie against then Premiership Middlesbrough in Round Three.
Capacity at United"s Imperial Fields stadium in Morden - Bishopsford Road, SM4 6BF - is 3,500 including 612 seats.
Admission prices on Saturday will be: adult £10; concession £5. under 16 £1.
POSSIBLE F.A. CUP REPLAY
Should a replay be required with Tooting and Mitcham United this will be played at Priory Lane on TUESDAY OCTOBER 27 kick off 19.45 with admission prices adult £13; concession £9; under 16 £4. Transfer to seated stand £2. All pay including season ticket holders.
In the event of a replay with Tooting and Mitcham the Sussex F.A.Senior Cup 2nd round tie away to Burgess Hill on Tuesday October 27 kick off 19.30. will have to be postponed.

RESERVES V CRAWLEY TOWN ON WEDNESDAY IS OFF
The Totesport Combination fixture between Borough Reserves and Crawley Town Reserves scheduled for Priory Lane is POSTPONED at the request of Crawley. New date still to be arranged and also for QPR Reserves away which was set for Tuesday October 27 but can't proceed because Borough will be in either F.A. Cup or Sussex Senior Cup action.

Continuing the postponement news Borough Under 18's Sussex Youth League (East) encounter with Eastbourne United Under 18's due to be played on Sunday October 25 is off because of the call up by Sussex of Borough trio Tristan Jarvis, Billy Medlock and Alex Howell for a representative match against the Royal Navy.
Yesterday (Sunday) the Under 18's were involved in a 3-3 thriller at Seaford Town.

Borough "A" suffered their first defeat in the Mid-Sussex League, Premier Division on Saturday, going down 3-2 away to Old Varndeanians.
The "A" side dont have a game on Saturday October 24th. and resume action on the 31s with a home encounter against Rotherfield.
