After the departure of Gary Waddock and Martin Kuhl to Wycombe Wanderers earlier in the week the club have acted swiftly to ensure that a temporary appointment is made before the players return to training on Thursday. They will now prepare for Saturday's Coca Cola League Two encounter at home to Bury.

39 year old Jason made nearly 400 appearances for Southampton at the top level of English football. He served the club as a player for 15 years. Bath born Jason was also First Team Coach under the stewardship of George Burley in 2007. When Burley left to become Scotland manager in January 2008 Jason became Joint Caretaker Manager alongside John Gorman.

Assisting Jason will be his former Southampton colleague Paul Williams. The 38 year old made over 400 senior appearances and also featured for Coventry City, Stoke City and Derby County both as a midfielder and defender. He has also gained coaching experience in the United States of America USL Premier Development League.

Jason and Paul have both represented England at Under 21 level.

The club are delighted that Jason and Paul have been able to make themselves available at such short notice and look forward to working with them during the period of time they are with the club whilst the process of shortlisting candidates and interviewing for the permanent positions takes place.
