Following yesterday's announcement that Fred Murray was due to sign for Luton Town, Grays Athletic can confirm that Fred has signed a 6 month loan deal with Luton Town with a view to securing a permanent deal in January. The club gives their apologies for any confusion that may have been caused by the previous announcement.
Some confusion has also arisen over the current management of the first team as Grays Athletic would like to confirm that Gary Phillips is the 1st Team Manager he is assisted by Alan Lewer. John Yems is part of the coaching staff and will also act in an advisory capacity on our opponents.

Whatever the score after 75 minutes in the Blue Square Premier League encounter between Borough and Rushden and Diamonds on Saturday (August 15th. kick off 15.00) the Priory Lane crowd are in for a spectacular final 15 minutes with the world-famous Red Arrows jetting overhead at 16.35 as part of their stunning formation display at Airbourne, the four day annual air show at the Sussex coastal resort.
It was against R and D that Borough made their BSP debut - 53 weeks to the day on Saturday-and in that Priory Lane clash Diamonds came out top 1-0 thanks to a first half penalty. They have one point from two games and in the early table are 21st (goal difference minus two). In fact after two matches Diamonds have yet to score.
They went down 2-0 at home last Saturday to surprise League leaders Salisbury City-missing a penalty and putting City on their way with a looping header own goal from skipper Jamie Stuart. On Tuesday night Rushden and Diamonds got a 0-0 at York City. Eastbourne Borough are are presently 13th. - same as their final League position last season - with three points and a g.d. of minus two.

Neil Jenkins who scored the winner in Eastbourne Borough"s 1-0 success over AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night with an unstoppable 25 yard screamer into the top corner actually started his career as a trainee at the "old" Wimbledon
and says it was the worst moment of his football life when they released him.
The 27 year-old left back was born in Carshalton and lives in Worcester Park. Tuesday"s strike was only his fifth goal in 148 games for Borough.

After Rushden and Diamonds at home on Saturday, Borough travel to Grays Athletic on Tuesday (August 18th) kick off 19.45 and on Saturday August 22nd Barrow - Borough's bogey team last season - visit Priory Lane 15.00 kick off. Barrow recorded a BSP double and knocked Borough out of the F.A. Cup in 2008/09.

Northampton Town have agreed a sponsorship deal with Errea for the kit and sportswear manufacturer to become the club's new back of the shirt sponsor for the new season.
Errea, who this summer became the club's official playing and training kit partner, will have their name on the back of the club's shirts for the 2009/2010 campaign.
