Dynamo re-sign veterans Mulrooney, Robinson

Players with combined seven MLS Cup titles return

HOUSTON, TX - January 26, 2010 - The Houston Dynamo announced today they have re-signed defender/midfielder Richard Mulrooney and defender Eddie Robinson to standard MLS contracts. Both players are expected to be available for the start of preseason training next week.

Per MLS and team policy, terms of the contracts were not released.

Robinson, 31, missed almost the entire 2009 season due to knee surgery but returned in September. He appeared in at least 20 games during four consecutive seasons from 2005-08, helping the Dynamo lead the league with fewest goals allowed in 2007 and 2008 and the Earthquakes do the same in 2005. An All-Star in 2006, Robinson won MLS Cup titles with San Jose in 2001 and 2003 and the Dynamo in 2006 and 2007.

Mulrooney, 33, missed the second half of the 2009 season due to knee surgery but expects to train with the club next week. An outstanding passer, Mulrooney has played outside back and central midfield for the Dynamo, contributing 11 assists in all competitions over the 2007-08 seasons. The MLS Comeback Player of the Year in 2006 after recovering from a torn ACL, he has made at least 20 starts in league play in nine of his 11 MLS seasons, winning MLS Cup titles with the Earthquakes in 2001 and 2003 and the Dynamo in 2007.

After opening training camp next week, the Dynamo will open their 2010 home schedule on Thursday, April 1, hosting defending MLS Cup champion Real Salt Lake at Robertson Stadium.

The Dynamo will host the 2010 Major League Soccer All-Star Game this summer at Reliant Stadium, and tickets are available in Dynamo season ticket packages, on sale now at HoustonDynamo.com or by calling (713) 276-7500.
